Schroder Star Fund Manager – Matthew Dobbs
Matthew Dobbs is one of Schroder Star Fund Managers, will be retiring in 2021, after 40 years with the firm.
Dobbs spent his entire career at Schroder after joining in 1981 and became head of global small companies in 2000. He was in charged of Schroder Asian Alpha Plus and helped grow 2 investment trust: Schroder Asia Pacific and Schroder Oriental Income into FTSE 250 companies. The group said Dobbs was
Schroder Asian Alpha Plus fund is of £1.2 billion is first quartile in its sector over three and five years, returning more than 118% to investors over five years and 181% over the last decade, according to FE Analytics.
Schroder Asia Pacific Investment Trust is of £897 million. It has delivered a share price total return of 127% over the last five years, and 194% over 10 years, according to data from the Association of Investment Companies (AIC). Comparing to Asia Pacific AIC sector, the sector has returned 102% and 158% over 10 years.
Dobbs will hand over management of his Asian funds to Richard Sennitt. In other words, Sennitt will take over the management of Schroder Oriental with effect from 31 December 2020 and will take over formal responsibility for Schroder Asia Pacific from 31 March 2021.
Sennit is the fund manager of Schroder Asian Income Fund since 2001. He co-manages five other funds, including Schroder Small Cap Discovery Fund and Schroder Asian Income Maximiser.
